In the second quarter of 2022, the top five drawing and coloring applications in Africa displayed a range of performance trends across downloads, active users, and, in some cases, revenue. Here, we provide a detailed overview of these trends based on Sensor Tower data.

Phone Case DIY by CrazyLabs LTD saw a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads. The app peaked in the first week of April with around 98K downloads, then experienced a decline, bottoming out at approximately 26.6K in mid-June before a slight recovery to 50.1K at the end of June. Active users also showed a decreasing trend, starting from 257K at the end of March and dropping to 158K by the third week of June, followed by a slight increase to 193K in the last week of June.

Princess Coloring Game from Coloring Games maintained relatively stable weekly downloads, ranging between 28K to 37K throughout Q2. The highest download count was in the week of April 11 at 37.6K. Active users saw a gentle decline from 70K in late March to around 69K by the end of June.

Paint by Number: Coloring Game by Oakever Games also showed consistent download numbers, fluctuating between 26K and 39K. The app peaked in the last week of June with 32.3K downloads. Revenue for this app was relatively low but steady, with weekly earnings hovering around $50 to $120, peaking at $120 in late March. Active users remained stable, averaging around 250K throughout the quarter.

Coloring Games: Color & Paint from RV AppStudios displayed a slight decline in weekly downloads from 34K in late March to 29K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, dropping from 132K to approximately 121K over the same period.

Lastly, Hello Kitty Nail Salon by Budge Studios experienced a consistent download rate, ranging between 19K to 26K, peaking at 26.8K in the last week of June. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained around 110K to 130K throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue was modest, varying between $54 and $132, with the highest earnings recorded in mid-April.
